WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Missouri Western hits the road to face the No. 4 Jennies of Central Missouri in a win-or-go-home first round of the MIAA Tournament at the South Recreation Complex.
The two meetings this season between the Griffons (5-9-4, 3-6-2 MIAA) and Jennies (13-1-2, 9-1-1 MIAA) have started the same way: an Elisabeth Pujado goal. The Honorable Mention All-MIAA midfielder scored two of her six goals against the Jennies, both giving the Griffons the lead in the first half.
The first meeting between the two teams saw the Griffons lead twice, once from Pujado's goal, and again by
Kaili Campbell, who's 49th minute goal gave the Griffons a 2-1 lead in Warrensburg in September. Two late Jennies goals would eventually down the Griffons, 3-2.
The second meeting was just last weekend, with Pujado opening the scoring in the 15th minute. Julia Kristensen answered back one minute later however, and the Jennies would go on to win 4-1, lead by a Kristensen hat trick.
