BEMIDJI, Minn. - Griffon Soccer (0-0-1) fired off 17 shots, including seven on goal, but were held off the board in a 0-0 draw on Friday evening at Chet Anderson Stadium in Bemidji.
The Griffons impressed defensively, holding the Beavers (0-0-1) to just six total shots in the match. Bemidji State was also not allowed a corner kick. MWSU had six corners in all.
Morgan Byrd played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded a shutout, ending up with four saves in all. It marks her eighth career shutout.
Kendall Knisley had four total shots with one on goal.
Marielle Wright and
Kiara Carr each had three shots.
MoWest continues their northern swing on Sunday, traveling to Aberdeen, South Dakota to face Northern State at 11 a.m.
Northern topped Northwest Missouri State on Friday, 1-0.
