MARYVILLE, Mo. — Griffon Football claimed its second first-half shutout of the season yet fell to No. 12/11 Northwest Missouri after allowing 16-straight points in the second half on Saturday at Bearcat Stadium.
Cody Watson booted an 18-yard field goal with 12 seconds left in the second quarter to hand Northwest (4-1, 4-1 MIAA) its first scoreless opening half at home since 2010's Nov. 20 matchup vs. MWSU (2-3, 2-3 MIAA). However, similar to that season, Northwest scored on its opening possession of the second half thanks to a 43-yard touchdown run by Robert Rawie to eventually bring the Bearcats to the finish line for the 16-3 victory.
