ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -  Missouri Western head men's basketball coach Will Martin and assistant coach Tim Peete will miss tonight's game against Northwest Missouri State due to the university's Covid-19 protocol. The remainder of the coaching staff and student-athletes have been cleared by medical staff and the team will compete as scheduled tonight against the third-ranked Bearcats. Martin and Peete will miss the next four games of the Griffons' current homestand, which concludes on February 15th.

"We have moved forward this season with the mindset to accept the unexpected," Martin said. "We have prepared for this eventuality and I have the utmost confidence in our support staff and our players to continue our mission."

In Martin and Peete's absence, assistant coach Ty Danielson will assume head coaching duties with graduate assistant coach Weston Smith also sliding over two chairs. Griffon head women's basketball coach Candi Whitaker and women's graduate assistant Tori Schickel will also be on the bench with the Griffon men for tonight's contest.

The Griffons (8-6) and Bearcats (14-1) will tip at 7:00 pm in the MWSU Fieldhouse.
