JOPLIN, Mo. – Missouri Western Baseball snapped a seven-game losing skid with a victory on Saturday. The Griffons (2-7) topped the Maryville Saints (2-2) 5-4 in day two of the MIAA/GLVC Crossover in Joplin. Saturday's matchup was the first time in Griffon Baseball history that the two programs had played.

The Saints started the game offensively, scoring one run in the second inning to take the lead. The Griffons brought out the bats in the fourth and fifth innings, scoring four runs during that time and never lost the lead for the rest of the game.

Justin Wood got the start for the Griffons, striking out four batters in six innings pitched.
Brian Tan came through with the save in relief of Wood, adding four strikeouts and only one hit. Ryan Louck took the loss for the Saints, allowing seven hits and four runs in six innings pitched.
