Griffon Football Receives More Postseason Honors

Vaval, Webb and Eatinger receive awards

ST. JOSEPH – Trey Vaval, Sam Webb and Hayden Eatinger earned more offseason awards for Griffon Football this week. The trio collected five accolades for the Griffons with the Don Hansen All-Super Region Three Team and D2Football.com All-America teams.

Vaval earned three special recognitions for his efforts during the 2019 season. The Blue Springs native earned D2Football.com second team All-America as an all-purpose athlete as well as first team Don Hansen All-Super Region Three team as a return specialist. The Agent Barry Live United Bowl MVP also was recognized as co-freshman of the year alongside Gei'Vonni Washington of Ashland.

Sam Webb also received recognition from the Super Region. The junior was also first team Don Hansen All-Region team as a cornerback. Hayden Eatinger received All-Region third team recognition for his contributions at center.

The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. The first team and second team All-Region selections advance to a national ballot from which the 2019 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team will be selected.

The D2Football.com All-America Team was selected by the staff of D2Football.com with input from coaches and sports information directors from around the country.
