ST. JOSEPH – Fort Hays State (7-3) scored two goals during the first half on Friday night to hand Griffon Soccer (4-6-1) an 0-3 loss. Friday night's loss was the first home game for the Griffs after a two-week road trip.
Claire Meyers had five shots for the Griffons, with two being just shy of the goal.
Taylor Schwartzkopf also recorded two shots with one on goal. Fort Hays scored two goals within a five-minute span in the first half, one by Jenna Prince which was unassisted in the 14
th minute, and another in the 17
th minute by Darby Hirsch assisted by Chloe Montano. The final goal of the game was scored by Zariah Smith in the 53
rd minute, unassisted.
The Tigers outshot the Griffons 13-9 with seven of those being on goal. Four of MWSU's shots were on frame.
