DES MOINES, Iowa – Missouri Western Tennis finished its first event of the season over the weekend, as they faced off against some quality opponents at the Drake Invitational. The team fell to some tough competition over the weekend, as no Griffons were unable to pick up any wins in Des Moines.
 
Mireia Birosta played a competitive match on Saturday before falling Augustana's Rebecca Faulkner. She came the closest to stealing a win but fell in three sets (1-6, 6-4, 10-7).

Federica Salmaso was elimated by way of default and the doubles pair of Salmoso/Krivickaite (MWSU/Upper Iowa) was elimated by walkover.
