TOPEKA, Kan. –Griffon tennis (8-5) fell for just the second time in the last five matches. Washburn (6-2), the ninth-ranked team in the region, knocked off Missouri Western 7-2 at the Washburn Tennis Complex.
 
Emilee Dent and Federica Salmaso picked up their fifth win this season at No. 3 doubles. Dent and Salmaso won 9-8 and claimed the match with a 7-1 advantage in the tiebreaker set.
 
The Griffons picked up another hard fought win in No. 4 singles. Sophia Aguilera won her first set 6-3 and bounced back to win the decisive third set 10-7. Aguilera has back-to-back wins in her last two singles matches and earned her seventh win of the season.
