ST. JOSEPH – Griffon softball (2-6) dropped both games of a doubleheader with No. 1 Minnesota State (2-0) on Saturday at the Spring Sports Complex.
Missouri Western was outscored 20-7 in the twin bill, dropping game one 9-0 and game two 11-7.
NOTABLES
- Missouri Western cut an 8-0 Minnesota State lead to 8-5 after a four-run fourth inning in game two
- Shelby Uhl continued her blistering hot start to the season, going 5-for-7, Saturday with another double and an RBI. She also walked once and is now batting .577 on the season with four doubles and nine driven in
- Shelbie Atwell pushed her season average to .407 with a 5-for-8 day at the plate
- Riley Wilson was 2-for-5 at the dish with a double and two walks
- Markee Brown drove in three with a pinch-hit double in the fourth inning of game two. Brown is 2-for-3 in three pinch hit appearances this season.
- Minnesota State had 26 hits, four doubles and two home runs. The Mavericks also stole three bass on four attempts
- Kenzie Hilzer took the loss in game one while Kaili Hinds took the game two loss
