ST. JOSEPH – Griffon tennis (3-1) hosts the 2018 Stoney Creek MWSU Indoor Invitational on Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 3. All matches will be held at Genesis Health Club in St. Joseph, Missouri.
 
Missouri Western starts the event off Friday morning at 9 a.m. against Truman State then finishes the day with Augustana at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, MWSU hosts Newman University at 3:30 p.m. for the event's final match.
 
With dominating wins in their last three matches of the fall schedule, the Griffons enter the first spring event with plenty of momentum. Junior Joanna Abreu Roman and freshman Bojana Vuksan are both undefeated at 4-0 in singles play as the team transitions into the spring.  
 
At the top two doubles spots, Missouri Western has not been knocked off all season. Vuksan teamed with senior Sofia Aguilera Tovar for a perfect 4-0 fall record. Abreu Roman and Karolina Strom also notched four straight wins in the early schedule. With a strong fall season, the Griffons looked poised to make a run throughout the spring.
