ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western (6-6) open its 2017 home season on Tuesday, Sept. 19 after having the first 12 matches of the season on the road. For the Griffons, it will also be their final non-conference match of the season.
As the Griffons wrap up non-conference play, the leadership and depth in the backrow has been pivotal. "We have a great group of players at our libero and defensive specialist positions right now. That group has provided us with so much depth in that area as well." Head coach

Kayla Ruff and
Amanda Dalbey and junior
Audrey Keim now all have over 100 digs in multiple seasons.
Over the past weekend, Ruff climbed into fifth all-time in career digs for Missouri Western with 1,252 digs.
Audrey Keim currently has 108 digs and is on pace for a third consecutive season of 200 digs or more.
Amanda Dalbey has four matches this season with at least 10 digs after she suffered a season-ending injury early in 2016.
LAST WEEK: The Griffons went 2-2 in the Carr Racop Invitational in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Stephanie Doak and
Ali Tauchen led Missouri Western with 113 kills and averaged 7.06 kills per set in four matches. The duo also combined for 13 blocks and three aces.
Kayla Ruff recorded 89 digs and six services aces for MWSU.
Lauren Murphy finished with 153 assists and averaged 11.77 assists per set over the weekend.
UP NEXT: Missouri Western travels to St. Charles, Missouri to play against Lindenwood on Friday, Sept. 22 for a 6 p.m. match. MWSU is at #15 Central Missouri on Saturday, Sept. 23 with first serve at 3 p.m.
