ST. JOSEPH – Griffon tennis dropped a pair of matches on the weekend to Lindenwood and Southwest Baptist.  MWSU fell to Lindenwood 5-4 on Saturday, April 1 and 9-0 to Southwest Baptist on Sunday, April 2. 

Missouri Western picked up straight set wins at #1 singles 6-3, 6-2 from Sofia Aguilera and #2 singles from Karolina Strom 7-5, 7-5 against the Lions. Joanna Abreu Roman swept #4 singles 6-3, 6-0.  In doubles play, Joanna Abreu Roman and Karolina Strom teamed up at #3 doubles for a 9-7 win.

The duo tried to carry their momentum from the win on Saturday to Sunday's match against SBU. Abreu Roman and Strom fell in a close match 8-6 at #2 doubles.

MWSU starts another action filled week on Tuesday, April 4 at Northwest Missouri State. First serve in Maryville, Missouri is set for 3 p.m.
