ST. JOSEPH – Griffon tennis fell to division I Creighton 5-2 at the Genesis Health Club. It is the first division I opponent to play Missouri Western since 2015.

Creighton opened the match by winning three doubles matches.  MWSU bounced back winning at #2 singles when Joanna Abreu Roman won in straight sets, 7-6 and 6-4. The Griffons also picked up another win at #4 singles by Sofia Aguilera.  Aguilera dropped the first set before winning 6-3 and 11-9 in the tiebreaking third set.

Federica Salmaso fell in three sets at #5 singles, dropping the tiebreaker set 10-4. Karolina Strom, Yasmine El Ghazi and Kaylene Quirk all fell in their matches.

The Griffons are back in action on Friday, March 3 at Genesis Health Club with first serve set for 12 p.m.
