ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Western Tennis fell 7-2 in a tough fought match against Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday afternoon. The Griffons claimed two singles matches on the day but couldn't find another victory throughout the day.

Missouri Westerns' two singles victories came from Sarah Giraldo and Yasmine El Ghazi in the No. 1 and No. 4 spots, respectively. Giraldo won her by scores of 6-1, 6-2 while El Ghazi tallied a 6-1, 7-5 win in her match.

Nebraska-Kearney got the early edge when they claimed all three doubles matches from the Griffons. Ceara Boldridge and Sofia Aguilera fell by the score of 9-8 (7-1) in their No. 2 doubles match.

The Griffons are back in action on Saturday at home against Fort Hays State starting at 11 a.m.
