LIBERTY, Mo. - Griffon Tennis took its first match of the season and the senior class won its first over William Jewell 5-4 Tuesday night. 

Sarah Giraldo, Yasmine El Ghazi and Meara Smith all took their singles matches. Kayla Dysart, Denise Chaio and Cerra Boldridge all dropped close siongles matches. The Griffons took two out of three doubles matches from the Cardinals with the number one team of Giraldo and El Ghazi defeating William Jewell's top duo. Chaio and Lindsay Beger also won their number three doubles match 8-4. 

Missouri Western will close out the fall portion of its schedule when it hosts its first match on campus in a decade Thursday against Baker. The Griffons will take to the refurbished MWSU Tennis Courts Thursday at 2 p.m.
