ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Missouri Western tennis team picked up their first MIAA victory of the season over the Lindenwood Lions by a score of 5-4 in St. Charles, Mo. The Griffons got two victories apiece from Lindsay Beger and Ceara Boldridge in the victory. The Griffons sit at 4-12 overall and 1-7 in MIAA play.

In doubles competition the Griffons went down 2-1 as they got a victory over Beger and Boldridge by a score of 8-0 over Sreeja Karki and Alexandra Medvedeva. In singles competition the Griffons got victories from their No. 2 player and No. 4-No. 6 playres to get the victory.

Denise Chiao won 6-4, 6-4 over Gloria Marras at No. 2 singles while No. 4 player Boldridge won by retirement of Mariona Pinol. No. 5 player Beger weon 6-1, 6-1 over Medvedeva while Kelly Cochran won at No. 6 by scores of 6-4, 2-6 and 7-5 over Karki for the team victory.

The Lions fall to 8-4 overall and 2-4 in MIAA play.

The match tomorrow against the Lincoln Blue Tigers has been moved to Saturday, April 6 at 1:00 pm in St. Joseph, Mo. The Griffons return to action on Wednesday, April 3 when they take on the Truman State Bulldogs in Kirksville, Mo. Match time is set for 3:00 pm.
