ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri Western tennis team faught hard but fell 5-4 against Evangel University in non-conference action. The Griffons fall to 3-11 with the loss.

the Griffons got down 4-1 falling two of the three doubles matches before mounting a comeback that came up short. The Griffons lone victory in doubles action came from the No. 3 pair of Ceara Boldridge and Kelly Cochran as they defeated Phine Mulumba and Kailey Roland 8-4.

In single action the Griffons won No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles but it wouldn't be enough for MWSU. Boldrige defeated Kelly Bush 6-2, 6-2 while Lindsay Beger defeated Muluma 6-2, 7-5 and Alyssa Dougan defeated Rolan 6-1, 6-2. Evangel improves to 2-1 with the victory.

The Griffons return to MIAA acton on Wednesday, March 27 at 3 pm with a match against Emporia State University.
