ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri Western women's tennis team fell in non-conference action against the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday morning. The Griffons fall to 3-4 with the loss.

The Griffons battled tough against the Tritans with all the scores being close. In No. 2 doubles the Griffon pair of Kayla Dysart and Lindsay Beger fell 9-7 against Natalia Carvalhair and Chandler Duchaine.

In singles action, Griffon No. 1 Denise Chiao fell 6-3, 6-4 against Renee Verboven. In No. 3 singles Meara Smith fell 6-4, 7-5 against Natalia Carvalhair while in No. 5 singles Beger fell 4-6, 6-1 and 2-10 against Chandler Duchaine.

The Griffons return to action on Tuesday, March 5 with a contest against Johnson Community College in St. Joseph, Mo. at the St. Joseph Tennis and Swim Club. Match time is set for 12:30 pm.
