Mike Halloran has served as the Director of Athletic Facilities at Missouri Western State University since 2010.
As director of athletic facilities, Halloran manages and coordinate events for the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex, Looney Complex, practice fields, Spratt Memorial Stadium and the Spring Sports Complex. He is also a point of contact during Kansas City Chiefs training camp for football operations and media. Since coming to Missouri Western, Halloran has been instrumental in planning several facility improvement projects, including the construction of the Spring Sports Complex and the Spratt Memorial Stadium renovation project.
Before coming to MWSU, Halloran worked for the St. Joseph Parks, Recreation & Civic Facilities Department since 1989. In 2001, he became the Senior Recreation Supervisor, responsible for all athletic, recreation and fitness facilities, programs and events. Mike supervised all budgeting, planning, operations and the hiring and training of hundreds of full-time, part-time and seasonal employees.
During Halloran’s tenure, St. Joseph hosted many prestigious sports events including an International Softball Congress World Fastpitch Championship, United States Olympic Committee Triathlon and Weightlifting trials, three Amateur Softball Association/USA Softball National Softball Championships, two Air National Guard National Softball Tournaments and several regional and state championship events. While under his direction, the Heritage Park Softball Complex was named the 2009 Amateur Softball Association’s National “Complex of the Year”. Mike has also been involved with the planning/administration of the NCAA basketball and softball championship events co-hosted by Missouri Western and the city, including the 2010 NCAA Division II Softball Championships held at Heritage Park.
Prior to his time in St. Joseph, Halloran worked in municipal recreation in Richmond and Maryville, Missouri. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and broadcasting from Northwest Missouri State University. In his spare time, Halloran enjoys many sports including golf, baseball, football, softball, and spending time with family and friends. Mike, his wife Julie, his son Anthony and dog Jasper reside in St. Joseph.
