Andrew Thullesen donned the Griffon Black & Gold and joined the staff in June of 2023 to help lead Director of Sports Performance Zach Fears in the new era of Griffon Sports Performance Department. Missouri Western Thullesen's first role working as a full-time director at an NCAA Division II institution.Â
BEFORE MWSU
A 2021 graduate of Missouri Valley College, Thullesen earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science and is currently en route to add a Master of Education and Administration from Ottawa University to his repertoire as well. Thullesen's last pit stop before making his way to St. Joseph was in Clinton, South Carolina, where he served as Presbyterian College's assistant strength and conditioning coach. As a Blue Horse, he created offseason and winter programs for the football team and assisted with ACL rehabilitation and postpartum returns to lifting while creating an internship curriculum that Thullesen himself oversaw.
Thullesen first cut his teeth as an intern for conference foe Missouri Southern back in the summers of 2018 and 2019, monitoring workouts for the Lions while leading warmups and assisting injured student-athletes in their varying roads to recovery.Â
