Perry Stevenson joined Griffon Men's Basketball as an assistant before the 2020-21 season. During his time with the program, the Griffons have defeated multiple ranked teams including multiple appearances in the conference tournament. Additionally, multiple players have been selected for All-MIAA honors during this time.
Stevenson reunited with his former University of Kentucky teammate, Jon Hood, who is also an assistant coach for the Griffons.
The team's head coach, Will Martin, was a student manager during Stevenson's playing days at Kentucky. Martin expressed his excitement about Stevenson's return, citing his experience as a starting big in the SEC and a professional player as a valuable Griffon team asset.
Stevenson played in 134 games during his four-year career at Kentucky and is seventh in the school's history for career blocked shots.
After playing, Stevenson coached at Trinity High School and Northside High School before taking a break to work in healthcare. Despite his hiatus, he continued to stay involved in basketball through summer camps and youth leagues.Â
