Derek Fulton enters his second season with Griffon football and will work with quarterbacks.
In Fulton's first season, Missouri Western averaged 457.5 yards per game, fourth best in the MIAA. He helped guide the quarterbacks to the fourth best passing efficiency rate in the MIAA  and throw over 2,500 yards.
Prior to coming to MWSU, Fulton played quarterback at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.  At GVU, he was 41-6 as a four-year starter and three year captain.  Fulton guided the Vikings to the 2013 NAIA National Championship and was named offensive MVP of the game. He was also named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015 to go along with 2014 AFCA NAIA All-American honors. Among his achievements, he was a two-time NAIA Scholar Athlete.Â
Fulton spent the 2013 summer as a quarterback instructor at the Jeff Trickey/Randy Wright QBR Football Camps and 2016 spring semester as a student assistant for GVU, coaching the running backs.
A native of Davenport, Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management and Business Administration Minor from Grand View University.  He will be pursuing his Masters in Sport and Fitness Management.Â
