ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Baseball has announced the addition of Kruise Newman to its coaching staff as Newman begins his collegiate coaching career at Missouri Western State University.

Newman comes to MoWest following a playing career that included stops at multiple levels of collegiate and professional baseball. His collegiate career featured time at the University of Tennessee, Walters State Community College, Tennessee Wesleyan University and the University of New Orleans.

Following his collegiate career, Newman continued his playing career professionally with the Lexington Legends of the Atlantic League. His time in professional baseball gave him the opportunity to compete at a high level while continuing to develop his understanding of the preparation, discipline, consistency and competitiveness required to succeed in the game.

Throughout his playing career, Newman experienced a variety of programs, coaching styles, teammates and baseball environments. Those experiences helped shape his approach to player development and provided a strong foundation as he transitions from playing to coaching.

As Newman begins his coaching career with Griffon Baseball, he will look to share the knowledge and experiences gained throughout his playing career with MoWest student-athletes. He is passionate about developing players, building strong relationships, creating accountability and helping student-athletes reach their potential both on and off the field.
