ANDOVER, Kan. – The Griffon women's golf team finished 12th at the MIAA Fall Designated Event on Tuesday at Terradyne Country Club.
MoWest posted matching rounds of 305 to finish with a two-round total of 610 (+42). Southwestern Oklahoma State won the 15-team field at 574 (+6), followed by Wayne State (Neb.) at 579 (+11) and Central Oklahoma at 580 (+12).
Avery Wells led the Griffons, finishing tied for 27th overall at 148 (+6). Wells opened the tournament with a 1-under 70 before carding a 78 in the final round.
Makenna Casey recorded MoWest's best round on Tuesday, firing a 2-over 73 to finish tied for 35th at 150 (+8). Casey improved four strokes from her opening-round 77.
Kylie Ellegood finished tied for 64th at 158 (+16), improving eight strokes with a 4-over 75 in the final round. Emma Spurlin placed tied for 69th at 161 (+19), while Raleigh Puzio finished tied for 79th at 164 (+22).
Competing as an individual, Cydney Beckmann finished tied for 52nd at 154 (+12) after rounds of 78 and 76.

What's Next
The Griffons will have nearly two weeks off before returning to action Oct. 5–6 at the Grace Shin Invitational in Edmond, Oklahoma. The two-day event, hosted by Central Oklahoma, will be played at the Golf Club of Edmond.
