ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Griffon Soccer (3-0-3, 0-0-1 MIAA) tied the match in the 80th minute with a
Kendall Knisley goal, and came away with a 1-1 draw against Central Oklahoma on Friday night at Spratt Stadium.
UCO (3-3-1, 0-0-1 MIAA) took a 1-0 lead right before halftime, scoring a goal as time expired before intermission.
The Bronchos held the Griffons off the board through 79 minutes before Knisley took a shot off of a pass of
Rosemary Pujado from just over 20 yards away, which went into the back of the net to knot the match 1-1.
The Griffs had three more shots in the final 10 minutes, including two on goal, but the Bronchos held on to keep the draw intact.
Morgan Byrd was outstanding in the goal for MoWest, tallying a career-best eight saves in the full 90 minutes. The Griffs had 10 total shots, including four on goal. MoWest also had eight corner kicks.
Knisley had four total shots, including two on goal. She's now up to 20Â goals in her career - second most in program history. The Griffons stay unbeaten through 25 consecutive matches at home, going 18-0-7 at Spratt since the start of the 2024 season.
MoWest is back home on Sunday to face Northeastern State. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
