ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Griffon Lacrosse (7-6, 3-2 GLVC) fell 22-0 to No. 10 Maryville (Mo.) (11-3, 4-1 GLVC) on Sunday.
Maryville seized control early, scoring nine goals in the opening quarter and building a 14-0 lead by halftime. The Saints added five more in the third and three in the fourth to complete the 22-0 result.
MoWest was limited offensively, finishing with five total shots, while Maryville totaled 49 in the contest. Despite the pressure, the Griffons recorded 18 saves on the defensive end.
Turnovers proved to be a factor, with MWSU committing 29 compared to Maryville's 15. In transition, the Griffons went 11-for-21 on clears, while the Saints finished 15-for-17.
Ava Garaway led the Griffons with 16 saves over 41:53 in goal, while
Addie DeMars recorded 2 saves in 18:07 of playing time.
What's Next
The Griffons close out the regular season at home with a pair of GLVC matchups, hosting No. 3 Indianapolis on Friday, April 24 at 4 p.m. before taking on Lewis on Sunday, April 26 at 1 p.m. Sunday's contest will serve as Senior Day. Both contests will be played at Spratt Stadium.
