ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Lacrosse (7-7, 3-3 GLVC) dropped a GLVC matchup on Friday, falling 19-5 to No. 3 Indianapolis (14-1, 6-0) at Spratt Stadium.
Indianapolis controlled the pace from the start, outscoring MoWest 5-1 in the opening quarter and building an 11-2 lead by halftime. The Greyhounds added five more goals in the third to extend the margin before closing out the 19-5 result.
The Griffons found the net once in each of the first three quarters before adding two goals in the fourth. Despite the effort, MWSU was limited to 15 shots compared to 39 by Indianapolis, while the Greyhounds also held a 19-7 edge in draw controls.
In goal,
Ava Garaway made six saves in 36:56 of action, while
Addie DeMars recorded four saves over the final 23:04.
MoWest has clinched the No. 4 seed in the GLVC Tournament following a loss by McKendree. The GLVC Tournament is set to begin on May 1.
