The Griffs ended last season, winning nine of their last 11 games and reaching the MIAA tournament semifinals. MoWest returns a pair of all-MIAA starters from that team, including MIAA Newcomer of the Year Mia Morel and honorable mention all-MIAA forward Nakiya Harris.

MoWest signed 10 new players for the coming season - six transfers and four freshmen. The Griffons finished last season No. 1 in the MIAA in made three-pointers (262 - 10th NCAA DII), No. 1 in steals per game (9.2), No. 2 in three-point percentage (32.5%) and No. 3 in scoring offense (71.8).

She also set a new MIAA tournament record with 90 total points scored in the event this past March. Morel was also second best in the MIAA in three-point percentage (34.8%), knocking down a league-best 81 tripes in 2025-26. The 81 made threes tied for ninth most among all players in NCAA Division II and is the third most in a single season at MoWest.

Harris finished No. 6 in the MIAA with 8.2 rebounds per game, totaling seven double-doubles last season.

Ready, Aim, Fire
MoWest has posed a potent threat from beyond the arc each of the last two seasons, ranking No. 1 in the MIAA and No. 10 in NCAA Division II with 262 made three-pointers last season for an average of 8.5 makes per game (No. 1 MIAA, No. 12 NCAA DII).

MoWest's 262 made three-pointers last season is the second most in a single season in program history. Since the start of the 2024-25 season, Griffon Women's Basketball has made 562-of-1754 three-point attempts (32%) - more than any other MIAA team over that stretch.

Tradition of Success

Opponent Previews
Gannon was a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Atlantic Region tournament last year, going 29-5 overall. Cleve Wright enters his 19th season as head coach, where he has over 400 career wins. The Golden Knights return 11 players altogether, including All-American Bri Claxon, who averaged more than 16 points per game last season.

Roosevelt looks improve after an 8-20 showing last season. The Lakers have some young talent with six freshmen, but they boast six seniors and eight upperclassmen altogether.
