Volleyball holds steady at No. 4 in latest NCAA Regional NPI Rankings

MoWest remains among the Central Region's top four teams for the third consecutive week.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The MoWest volleyball team remains ranked No. 4 in the latest NCAA Power Index (NPI) Central Region Rankings, released Monday, Nov. 2.

The Griffons, who hold a 21-3 overall record, are one of four Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) programs ranked among the top 10 teams in the Central Region.

Nebraska Kearney leads the MIAA contingent at No. 2, followed by Emporia State at No. 3, MoWest at No. 4 and Washburn at No. 7. All four programs maintained their positions from last week's rankings.

MIAA Teams in NCAA Central Region NPI Rankings

  • No. 2 – Nebraska Kearney

  • No. 3 – Emporia State

  • No. 4 – MoWest

  • No. 7 – Washburn

The NCAA Power Index (NPI) is a ranking system used in Division II and Division III to evaluate team performance based on game results and the strength of opponents. These factors are used to calculate each team's NPI value and ranking.

NPI rankings are updated throughout the season as teams compete in additional matches and opponents' NPI values change. Final rankings are not determined until all matches and rankings for the season are complete.

MoWest will look to maintain its position among the Central Region's top teams as the Griffons enter the final stretch of the 2026 regular season.

What's Next

MoWest faces a pair of major MIAA road matchups this weekend, beginning Friday, Nov. 6, against Pittsburg State at 6 p.m. in Pittsburg, Kansas. The Griffons will then travel to Emporia, Kansas, for a highly anticipated showdown against No. 3 regionally ranked Emporia State on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. The matchup features two of the Central Region's top four teams as the regular season enters its final stretch.
