ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Griffon lacrosse (8-6, 3-2 GLVC) will wrap up the regular season this weekend on the road against Lewis (6-9, 2-3 GLVC) and No. 8 UIndy (10-5, 4-1 GLVC).

Action will begin at Lewis Stadium in Romeoville, Illinois, with a matchup against the Flyers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. It will conclude on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in Indianapolis, Indiana, facing the Greyhounds at Key Stadium.

x-Clinched GLVC Championship Tournament Bid
As the regular season comes to a close this weekend, MWSU and Lewis will compete for the final spot in the GLVC Tournament. After their game against the Griffs tomorrow, the Flyers will host Quincy at home on Sunday.
No. 5 Maryville, Rockhurst and No. 8 UIndy have clinched a spot in the tournament. The top-seed team of the three will host the tournament on its campus on Friday, May 1 and Sunday, May 4.
TOP GRIFFON PERFORMERS
Senior
Sam Pruitt leads the team with 67 points, averaging 4.79 points per game, which ranks her sixth in the GLVC. This season, she has scored 45 goals and provided 22 assists over 14 games. Additionally, the native of Ellisville has recorded 28 ground balls, secured 17 draw controls and caused 15 turnovers.

Caetryn Gilreath is having an outstanding season, leading the team with 47 goals and averaging 3.36 goals per game, which places her eighth in the GLVC. Alongside her scoring prowess, she has also provided two assists, totaling 49 points. The native of Lowell, Massachusetts, has collected 22 ground balls, caused nine turnovers and secured seven draw controls for the Griffs.

Jessica Brook is currently leading the team with 30 assists this season, averaging 2.14 assists per game, which places her in a tie for the top position in the GLVC. Hailing from Savage, Minnesota, she set a school record for single-game assists earlier this season by achieving seven assists in a match against CSU-Pueblo.

Grace Williams has been a crucial member of the Western defense, tallying an impressive 27 caused turnovers, which places her third in the GLVC. Sophomore
Brooke Tjernlund has also made a significant impact with 22 turnovers this season. In addition, sophomore
Jordan Porter has secured 28 ground balls, while freshman
Maddie Chidester leads the team with 41 draw controls.

Ava Garaway (7-6) heads into the week with 134 saves (9.57 AVG/G), which ranks third in the league. The sophomore has also gathered 36 ground balls.

ABOUT THE FLYERS
Lewis concluded the 2024 season with a 9-8 record (3-4 GLVC) and was picked to finish sixth in the GLVC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 19 points. Western claimed last season's match, 15-5, in St. Joseph.

The Flyers have a record of 6-9 (2-3 GLVC) as they head into the weekend. Last week, they narrowly defeated William Jewell 12-11 in Liberty before losing to Rockhurst 20-7 in Kansas City.

Freshman midfielder Jade McKinnon is a player to keep an eye on. She has accumulated 52 points, including 36 goals and 16 assists. Her 54 draws ranked eighth in the GLVC.

In goal for Lewis, sophomore Myah Templeton (5-8) enters the week with a goals-against average of 12.98. She has tallied 130 saves and 23 ground balls.

ABOUT THE GREYHOUNDS
UIndy finished 2024 with a record of 14-6 (6-1 GLVC) and was picked to finish second with 44 points and two first-place votes in the GLVC Preseason Coaches' Poll. They claimed their fourth-straight GLVC Tournament title, defeating No. 6 Maryville 17-10. However, the Saints took the rubber match 16-9 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Greyhounds currently have a record of 10-5 (4-1 GLVC). They have achieved key victories against No. 6 Regis, Northern Michigan, No. 25 Alabama-Huntsville and No. 16 Grand Valley. They have also experienced close losses to No. 10 Lynn (OT), No. 4 Florida Southern, No. 1 Tampa, No. 16 Flagler and No. 5 Maryville.
