ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Griffon tennis (4-11, 1-7 MIAA) fell to the Emporia State Hornets (8-8, 3-3 MIAA) on a windy Thursday afternoon at Noyes Tennis Court.

Missouri Western started the match on a strong note by winning a pair of doubles matches and securing the point.
Cristina Granero Boj and
Elena Rey Garcia emerged victorious against Yuliya Klimova and Anastasia Pesic, winning 6-4. At the same time,
Celia Castaño Malnero and
Johanna Priedite achieved a close 7-5 victory over Pela Conde and Lille Bizouerne.

In singles play, the Griffons hit a roadblock as Emporia secured five victories to win the match. Granero Boj was the lone winner for Western, defeating Giovanna Ferreira 6-2, 6-4 in No. 1 singles.
