QUINCY, Ill. - Missouri Western lacrosse (2-3) lost its first road game of the season, falling 18-6 to Northern Michigan (5-1) at QU Stadium on Friday afternoon.

The match started with a competitive exchange between the two regional foes, with each team scoring goals in the first four minutes. However, the Wildcats quickly found their rhythm and headed into halftime with a 9-2 lead.Â

Northern Michigan maintained its strong offensive output into the second half, outscoring the Griffons 9-4 en route to the 12-point victory. They were led by a 10-point performance from Josie Lakosy, who finished with seven goals, three and six draws.

For the MO West, senior
Sam Pruitt led the team with three points after netting two goals and assisting on another. Sophomore
Jordan Porter also scored twice, while senior
Grace Williams led the team defensively with a pair of ground balls and caused turnovers.

Missouri Western will return home on Friday, March 14, to take on the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears. The opening draw from Spratt Stadium is scheduled for noon. Â
