SAN ANGELO, Texas - Missouri Western's softball (5-5) rallied from an early deficit by scoring five unanswered runs to secure a 5-3 victory against Ouachita Baptist (Ark.) on the final day of the George and Ola McCorkle Challenge.

The Tigers (4-5) took an early lead with a 2-run home run and an RBI single in the top of the first inning at Mayer Field. However, the Griffons answered back in the third inning with an RBI double from
Mackenzie DeVine (2-4), followed by a 2-RBI double from
Sienna Reed, which tied the game at 3-3.

Bubba Hoelscher, who finished a perfect 2-for-2 with a run and a walk, propelled the Griffons to victory with a clutch single to left field in the bottom of the fifth inning, driving in freshman
Matti Peters and
Myah Dwyer.

Sydney Rader (3-3) completed a perfect weekend with a 3-0 record, marking her third consecutive complete 7.0-inning game in the circle. The native of Norfolk, Nebraska, achieved a season-high seven strikeouts and surrendered only two earned runs.
The Griffons will return to action on February 21-23 for the Washburn Invitational. They will play six games over the three days at Gahnstrom Field, beginning with a Friday doubleheader against Northern State (S.D.) at 2:00 and Minot State (N.D.) at 4:00 p.m.
