Griffon Soccer heads up Highway 71 for regular season finale vs. Bearcats

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Griffon Soccer wraps up the regular season on the road, traveling up Highway 71 to take on Northwest Missouri State on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. in Maryville.

MoWest (9-2-6, 5-2-4 MIAA) enters the regular season finale tied with Emporia State for the No. 5 seed in the conference standings, sitting just three conference points shy of the Bearcats (10-5-1, 7-3-1 MIAA) for a top-four spot, a key position as the top four teams earns the right to host in the opening round of the MIAA Tournament beginning Sunday, Nov. 9.

The Griffons head into Wednesday's contest following back-to-back 0–0 draws against No. 16 Washburn and Emporia State, recording their 11th shutout of the year and extending their home unbeaten streak to 20 consecutive matches at Spratt Stadium.

Northwest Missouri State, meanwhile, enters after a 2–0 loss to No. 16 Washburn and a 0–0 draw with Emporia State. The Bearcats aim to lock down a home postseason berth, while MoWest looks to finish strong and push into hosting contention.

Tiebreaker procedures could come into play after Wednesday's results, with the full MIAA Women's Soccer Championship bracket set to be released Wednesday night following the conclusion of MIAA regular-season play.
