ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - No. 16 Griffon Volleyball (21-6, 13-3 MIAA) kicks off the postseason in the quarterfinals as the No. 2 seed, taking the court for the first match of the 2025 MIAA Volleyball Postseason Tournament against the No. 7 seed Pittsburg State Gorillas (12-14, 6-10 MIAA).
The game time is set for 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, at St. Joseph's Civic Arena, hosted by the St. Joseph Sports Commission.
The Griffons and the Gorillas have already met twice this season. Their first matchup came on September 5 in the Gorilla Classic and served as MoWest's second match of the season, where the Griffons completed a thrilling five-set comeback after dropping the first two sets 19–25 and 21–25, before winning 25–22, 25–22 and 15–13.
In the second regular-season meeting on October 17, the Griffons earned a four-set victory with scores of 25–20, 18–25, 25–18, and 25–23.
The winner of the quarterfinal matchup will advance to face the winner of No. 3 seed Washburn and No. 6 seed Central Missouri in the semifinals on Friday, November 21, at St. Joseph's Civic Arena, with first serve set for 5 p.m. The MIAA Championship match is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, at 6 p.m., also at St. Joseph's Civic Arena.
