PITTSBURG, Kan. - Griffon Soccer (8-2-4, 4-2-2 MIAA) took a 2-0 loss at Pittsburg State on a raindy Friday afternoon at the Gorilla Soccer Pitch in Pittsburg.
The Gorillas (10-2-2, 5-1-2 MIAA) scored a goal in the 42nd minute and clinched it with another in the 82nd minute on a free kick. Both goals were unassisted.
The Griffons had 10 shots with six of them being on goal.
Kendall Knisley took two shots-on-goal.
Brookelyn Buttolph played the whole 90 minutes defensively.
Morgan Byrd recorded three saves.
The match was a bit choppy, if not chippy, with a combined 31 foul calls and a combined five yellow cards issued on a rain-soaked pitch.
MoWest heads to Joplin Sunday to face Missouri Southern. That match is set to start at 2 p.m.
