ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Volleyball (14-5, 6-2 MIAA) pushed its win streak to five matches with a 3-1 win over Pittsburg State on Friday night at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
The Griffs took the first set 25-20 before dropping the second 18-25. MoWest bounced back and took the next two 25-18 and 25-23.
Emma Salker was solid throughout with a match-high 16 kills and seven digs.
Holly Heldt logged her third consecutive double-double with 13 kills and 17 digs.
Taylor Russell had nine kills and four digs.
Anna Strohmeier also logged a career-best seven kills.
Noelle Sutcliffe and
Brooklyn Gormley each had six.
Katelyn Diani-O'Day had 28 assists, while
Anna Weberg tallied 20 digs.
MoWest talled 62 kills to PSU's 44, while the Gorillas threw 13 blocks. Pitt (8-10, 2-6 MIAA) was led by Vix Vilott, who had 13 kills and 14 digs.
MoWest is back in action at home on Saturday against Newman. That match is set to start at 1 p.m.
