JOPLIN, MO. – Junior shortstop Blake Anderson (Overland Park, Kan.) and senior outfielder Jared Munk (Shawnee, Kan.) bashed out five of Missouri Western State University's eight hits in a MIAA weekend series finale Sunday, April 21.
 
Anderson collected two hits including a double and drove in two, and Munk was three-for-three at the dish with two runs scored for head coach Damian Stambersky's group against Missouri Southern State. Those marks helped the Gold and Black rally into a 2-2 tie in the third, but the host Lions came back with a pair of three-run rallies in the fourth and sixth frames to ice a 9-3 victory.
 
MWSU (18-25 overall, 9-21 MIAA) begin a regular-season concluding four-game home stand Tuesday, April 23. Quincy University is in town for a 5 p.m. first pitch.
