PITTSBURG, KAN. – Despite a 9-4 loss at Pittsburg State University Friday, April 12, Missouri Western State University saw an impressive offensive run continue.

Damian Stambersky's Griffons registered at least five hits-or-more for the 57
th straight contest dating back to the early portion of the 2023 campaign. Junior shortstop
Blake Anderson (Overland Park, Kan.) ran his string of multiple-hit outings to four going two-for-five; senior first baseman
Travis Wiese (Vancouver, Wash.) pounded three hits including two doubles and drove in a run; and senior left fielder
Jared Munk (Shawnee, Kan.) smashed two hits to top the 10-hit team total.
Pittsburg State jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two and extended the advantage to 6-1 through six. The Griffons did give their hosts a scare in the eighth with a three-run rally but the Gorillas answered with three of their own in the home half of the frame.
The weekend series resumes Saturday, April 13, at PSU's Al Ortolani Field. Game time is 1 p.m.
