Ryals roll guides MWSU

ST. JOSEPH, MO. – Sophomore midfielder Serah Ryals (Monument, Colo.) had an early evening to remember Friday, April 12.

In just eight shot attempts, the Gold and Black offensive machine notched six goals, including the first three at Spratt Stadium, to send head coach Jessica Berg's team to a dominating 15-6 win over Lewis University. Junior Sam Pruitt (Ellisville, Mo.) also registered multiple scores with three goals. Ryals added three ground balls and an assist to a superb early spring outing.

Senior goalkeeper Mackenzie Porter (Montrose, N.Y.) (five ground balls); red-shirt freshman midfielder Brooke Tjernlund (Hugo, Minn.) (two goals); redshirt freshman attacker Jordan Porter (Montrose, N.Y.) (one goal, three ground balls); and junior defender Grace Williams (Ballwin, Mo.) (three ground balls) added their names to the highlight reel. Porter also turned in eight saves.

MWSU (8-5 overall, 2-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference) continues a regular-season ending home stand Sunday, April 14. The University of Indianapolis is the Griffons guest for a 12 p.m. start.
