Edmond, OK - The Missouri Western baseball team fell to Central Oklahoma 6-3 in the opening set of a three game MIAA series on Friday evening at Wendell Simmons Field in Edmond.
The Bronchos (14-2, 2-2 MIAA) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning to take early command. Western got on the board in the sixth with a Rogelio Buremen two-run single to cut the deficit to 4-2. Kaden Doan's RBI base knock in the seventh made it a 5-3 game, but the Griffons (9-6, 2-2 MIAA) could get no closer.
Doane continues to stay hot at the plate, going 3-4 with an RBI and a walk. The Griffon second baseman is batting .419 on the early season.
Game two of the series is set for Saturday, March 2nd at 3pm.
