Edmond, OK - The Missouri Western baseball team used timely hitting and solid pitching to even the score with Central Oklahoma Saturday, defeating the Bronchos 5-2 in game two of the three-game MIAA series in Edmond.
The Griffons pounded out 14 hits and Ryan Koval went 3-5 with a home run and 3 RBI's.
,MWSU held UCO to just four hits and Zack Cushing picked up the victory on the mound to move to 3-0 on the season. Cushing struck out nine Bronchos in 5.1 innings of work, allowing just one run on two hits.
With the win, the Griffons move to 10-6 on the season and 3-2 in MIAA play. UCO falls to 14-3 overall and 2-3 in the league.
The rubber match is set for 1pm Sunday in Edmond, with Western aiming for its fourth straight series win.
