ST. PAUL, MN - Missouri Western women's basketball took a 77-60 loss at No. 25 Concordia-St. Paul on Wednesday night inside the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul.
Missouri Western (2-3) never tasted a lead in the loss, trailing 20-13 after the first quarter and 41-27 at halftime. The Golden Bears (5-0) led by as many as 25 points midway through the fourth.
The Griffons struggled to get an inside game going, making just 11 total two-point field goals and getting outscored in the paint, 44-22. CSP made 25 two-point bunnies, including 12 layups, and shot 44.8% (30-of-67) overall.
CSP helped their cause by outrebounding MWSU 49-32, including 13-6 on the offensive glass. That led to 11 second chance points for the Golden Bears.
Missouri Western was held to 31.6% shooting (18-of-57), including 26.9% (7-of-26) from three. The Griffs were 17-of-25 (68%) at the free throw line, while CSP made 12-of-15 (80%) at the stripe.
Defensively, Missouri Western forced 14 steals and 19 total turnovers, scoring 15 points off of those.
Laura Toffali led the Griffon scoring effort with 14 points and had five steals. 
Marie Sepp added 13 points to go with a team-high six assists and five steals. 
Jessica Ford finished with 11 points and a team-best seven rebounds.
Missouri Western stays on the road Thursday, heading further north to face Minnesota State-Moorhead (0-3). Tip-off Thursday night is set for 6 p.m.
