Currently in eighth and one spot ahead of MWSU in the conference standings, Rogers State (6-5, 3-2 MIAA)  has won three of its last four games, last defeating Southwestern Christian on Dec. 30 in Claremore. The Hillcats are hard to beat at home, sustaining a perfect 5-0 record at the Claremore Expo Center this season. When on its homecourt, Rogers has beaten the likes of Nebraska Kearney, Fort Hays State and Northeastern State. Spanning back to last season, RSU has won its last eight games at home, last losing in Claremore on Jan. 7, 2023. The Hillcats are third in the MIAA with 79.5 PPG but give up 78.9 per outing, the second most in the league. Rogers is also 25th in DII with a field goal clip of 49.9%.

Who to Watch
Rogers has two players within MIAA's top-25 scoring list: senior guard Rodney Battle with 14.6 PPG (15th); and senior forward Isaac Johnson with 13.7 PPG (17th). Scoring 9.8 PPG, sophomore forward Caden Fry is first in the MIAA with a field goal mark of 65.7%. Junior guard Anthony Marshall Jr. is sixth in the MIAA with 19 steals, while senior guard Evan Anderson is 10th with 17.

Head Coach
In his 14th season at RSU, Justin Barkley holds a record of 256-138, spending his entire head coaching career in Claremore to this point. In his career, he is 3-3 vs. MWSU overall, 2-3 vs. Western in the postseason, 1-1 vs. the Griffs at home and 3-2 vs. Head Coach Will Martin. Barkley was also a part of Northeastern State's National Championship team in 2003.

Rivalry Record Rabbit Hole
The all-time series record is the same as Barkley's record vs. MWSU, all knotted up at 3-3 since first playing in 2020. The Griffons won the first three matchups before RSU rattled off the next three. Western is 1-1 in Claremore, winning there on Nov. 19, 2020, and falling last season on Feb. 11, 2023.

Last Time Out

In 14th and last place is Northeastern State (5-6, 0-5 MIAA), a team that is 4-3 at the NSU Event Center in Tahlequah this season. However, NSU has lost both of its two MIAA home games and its last three home contests against DII opponents. The RiverHawks are regarded as one the better-facilitating teams in the MIAA, averaging the second-most assists per game in the MIAA with a slash of 16.91. Northeastern is also third with 186 assists. Northeastern plays No. 19 Northwest Missouri State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. before playing MWSU on Saturday.
