ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Missouri Western Baseball dropped game one of their last regular-season homestand against No. 16/12 Missouri Southern on Friday night by a score of 9-3 at the Spring Sports Complex.
Both teams had a share of the long ball, with Missouri Southern hitting three and Missouri Western hitting within the first inning and a half. One of those bombs came from Griffon Brenden Anderson in the bottom of the first inning. His first homer of the season cut MSSU's lead to 2-1.
During the bottom of the third,
Hunter Olson grounded out to bring
Jared Munk home and lowered Southern's lead to 4-2. The bats came alive for Missouri Southern with two runs in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth, effectively sealing the game.
