TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Griffon Tennis took down No. 36 Northeastern State on Sunday, notching their third win in four games over ranked opposition and tenth overall win of the season.
The Griffons rolled to a 6-1 win over the RiverHawks, taking the doubles point and flying to five of the six singles points. The only singles match the Griffons dropped was to a top-10 player, while the rest of the team took care of business, cruising to the win.
DOUBLES
Nicole Donnelly and
Anya Chavez took down Emilai Cosatto and No. 31 Alisha Moldakhmetova in the No. 1 doubles match 6-1.
Isabella MacGibbon and
Anais Peralta Criado beat Leah Gonzales Edwards and Valeria Teran in the No. 2 doubles match 7-6, and
Lucia Casas Blas and
Ariella Curci beat Jayaprakash Belinda Roos Karremans in the No. 3 doubles match 7-5.
SINGLES
Chavez fell to No. 10 Cosatto in the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-2. Ranked at No. 46, MacGibbon beat Moldakhmetova in the No. 2 singles match 6-2, 6-4, and Garnero Boj beat Gonzales Edwards 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 3 match. Peralta Criado beat Karremans 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 4 match, and Casas Blas beat Teran 7-6, 4-6, 10-8 in the No. 5 match. Donnelly beat Sandra Mari Marti in the No. 6 match 6-2, 7-6, 10-8.
