Pruitt, York put up four goals in loss at Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Griffon Lacrosse fell after a hard-fought battle against Alabama-Hunstville to round out their spring break swing across the south, falling 17-15 at Charger Park.

Three different Griffons netted hat tricks, with Karlin York, Sam Pruitt and Jordan Coulon all scoring three or more goals. Pruitt and York both finished with four goals overall. Madison Brady finished with two goals and led MWSU with two assists. 

The Griffons (5-4) dominated the draw control, winning 27 to UAH's nine. The Chargers (4-7) made up ground in turnovers, only committing nine to the Griffons 20. Both teams threw early punches, as the Griffons took a 4-2 lead in the first quarter before UAH stormed into an 8-4 lead at the 7:09 mark of the second quarter.

Missouri Western responded quickly, netting a quick five goals before halftime to retake the lead at 9-8 going into the break. Both teams scored a plethora of goals in the second half, with two more ties taking place. Huntsville pulled away in the final few minutes, beating the Griffons 17-15 in the end.
