WICHITA, Kan. — Griffon Baseball dropped game two in their series vs. Newman in a 12-2 showing throughout seven innings on Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Field.
Newman (10-12, 4-4 MIAA) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third after a pair of RBI hits. Once the Jets built a 3-0 lead, Missouri Western (3-13, 0-8 MIAA) cut into the deficit in the sixth thanks to a two-run single by
Hunter Olson, scoring
Hunter Rumachik and
Jared Munk. However, Newman notched three runs in bottom frame of the sixth and then six more in the seventh to run-rule MWSU to take the series win.
