SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Griffon Tennis fell to Division I Missouri State on Friday afternoon at the Cooper Tennis Complex by a score of 5-1, with one singles match not being finished due to the overall match already being decided.
DOUBLES
The Griffons (5-2) fell in both the No. 1 and 2 singles, as
Isabella MacGibbon and
Ariella Curci fell to Diana Cabrera and Alyson Piskulic, 6-4.
Anya Chavez and
Anais Peralta Criado fell to Sandra Lukacova and Juliette Robinson, 6-3. The No. 3 match did not finish as the point was decided, but
Nicole Donnelly and
Cristina Granero Boj were tied at four with Silva Avakian and Mary Houston.
SINGLES
Chavez fell to Cabrera in the No. 1 match, 6-0, 6-1, 6-2. MacGibbon slid into the No. 2 role for the first time this year and fell to Houston, 6-1. 6-3. Granero Boj fell in the No. 3 match to Robinson by the same score, 6-1, 6-3, and Peralta Criado fell to Lukacova, 6-4. 6-3, in the No. 4 match. The Griffons picked up their lone point of the day in the No. 5 match, where Casas Blas defeated Piskulic in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Avakain and Curci did not finish the No. 6 match as the overall match was decided, but the two were tied at 5-5 in the first set.

- The Griffons switched up the order for the first time this year, with Chavez taking her first game in the one slot.
- This is the second match against Division I opposition, and the Griffons have taken points in both matches.
